| Background PKCq is a member of the novel, Ca(2+)-independent PKC subfamily, which plays an important and non-redundant role in several aspects of T cell biology. Mutation of PKCq gene leads to impaired receptor-induced stimulation of the transcription factors AP-1, NF-kappaB and NFAT, which results in defective T cell activation, and to aberrant expression of apoptosis-related proteins, resulting in poor T cell survival. It is the major isoform of PKC that is involved in NF-kB activation induced by CD3-CD28 costimulation. PKCq is expressed mostly in skeletal muscle, megakaryoblastic cells and platelets. Human PKCq gene is localized on human chromosome 10p15. |
Antigen This antibody was generated by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic non-phosphopeptide corresponding to human PKCq around the phosphorylation site of serine 695 (N-F-SP-F-M).
| | | Western blot analysis of PKCq (Ab-695) using IMG-90499-2 in HT-29 (Lane 1 and 2) and K562 cells (Lane 3) treated with Anisomycin (1mM, 30min). | | | | | Immunohistochemical analysis of PKCq (Ab-695) in paraffin-embedded human lung carcinoma tissue using IMG-90499-2. | | | | | | | Reference 1.
