-20°CThe C-11 antibody is a broad spectrum antibody which reacts specifically with a wide variety of normal, reactive and neoplastic epithelial tissues. The antibody reacts with simple, cornifying and non-cornifying squamous epithelia and pseudostratified epithelia. It does not react with non-epithelial normal human tissues. This antibody can be applied to methanol- or acetone-fixed frozen sections, and to formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human tissues. Increased staining intensity is seen following proteolytic treatment of tested tissue (protease unmasking). Similarly embedded methacarn-fixed material is also suitable for cytokeratin demonstration. This antibody may be used for the localization of cytokeratins using various immunochemical assays including direct immunofluorescence using frozen or fixed tissue sections or cultured cells. It may also be used in flow cytometry of normal and neoplastic epithelial cells. Intermediate-sized filaments are abundant cytoplasmic structural proteins in most vertebrate cells.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:
Immunofluorescence: 1:50
Flow Cytometry: 1:500
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control:
Ptk2 cells
Storage and Stability:
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
