Biological Activity
IFN-γ is the major interferon produced by mitogenically or antigenically stimulated lymphocytes. Human Interferon gamma (hIFN-γ) is amacrophage‐activating factor. IFN-γ is also implicated in resistance to NK cell and CTL responses and in immune escape in a variety of cancers. IFN-γ signaling does diverse biological functions primarily related to host defense and immune regulation, including antiviral and antibacterial defense, apoptosis, inflammation, and innate and acquired immunity.
Recombinant Human Interferon Gamma (IFN-γ) expressed the target gene encoding Gln24-Gln166.
Measured by a cytotoxicity assay using HT-29 cells, the ED50 for this effect is < 0.03 ng/ml.
Accession: P01579
Endotoxin < 0.01 EU/µg
