Hydrobromic acid is a strong acid that is used in conjunction with Phenol (P318005) to carry out rapid cleavage of sulfonamides. Hydrobromic acid is also used as a catalyst to reduce sulfoxides, such as Dimethyl sulfoxide (D479380).
