β-Gentiobiose (Gentiobiose) is a natural oligosaccharide. β-Gentiobiose can promote ripening of tomato fruit[1].

In Vitro

β-Gentiobiose (50-200 μg per fruit; vacuum infiltration) hastens the initiation of tomato fruit ripening (judged by colour change) by 1-3 days relative to fruit infiltrated with Glucose or Isomaltose (HY-N3018)[1].
