Sabouraud dextrose broth

Sabouraud dextrose broth is the liquid formulation of the Sabouraud medium, containing peptones and dextrose at an acidic pH optimized for fungal cultivation. The absence of agar makes this broth suitable for the enrichment of fungi from liquid samples, as well as for antifungal susceptibility testing in broth microdilution assays. Sabouraud dextrose broth is routinely employed in medical mycology laboratories for blood culture subcultures and for maintaining fungal stock cultures in liquid phase.
