Mannitol Lysine Crystal Violet Brilliant Green Agar is a high quality selective and differential agar medium used in microbiology for the isolation and differentiation of Salmonella and Shigella species from other Enterobacteriaceae. The medium contains mannitol as a fermentable carbohydrate source, lysine as a source of amino acids, crystal violet and brilliant green as selective agents to inhibit the growth of other bacteria, and indicators that help differentiate between different bacterial species based on their ability to ferment mannitol and decarboxylate lysine. This product has been used as a molecular tool for various biochemical applications. It has also been used in a wide array of other chemical and immunological applications.
