PerCP-conjugated anti-hamster primary antibodies are immunochemical reagents designed for the fluorescence-based detection of target antigens in hamster-derived samples. Produced by immunizing host species such as goat or rabbit with purified hamster immunoglobulins, these antibodies are purified by immunoaffinity chromatography and conjugated to Peridinin Chlorophyll Protein Complex (PerCP), a photosynthetic pigment-protein complex isolated from dinoflagellates. PerCP exhibits a high quantum yield, a large Stokes shift, and an emission maximum around 675 nm, making it compatible with standard red fluorescence detection channels. Depending on the reagent, antibody specificity may target heavy and light chains (H+L) or individual immunoglobulin isotypes. Many formulations are additionally pre-adsorbed against serum proteins from other species to minimize cross-reactivity and improve assay specificity.
Applications
PerCP-conjugated anti-hamster primary antibodies are widely used in fluorescence-based immunoassays. In flow cytometry and fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), they enable quantitative detection of cell surface and intracellular antigens and are particularly valuable in multicolor staining panels because of their distinct spectral characteristics. In immunofluorescence microscopy, these reagents facilitate the visualization and localization of target antigens in tissue sections and cultured cells. Additional applications include multiplex bead-based immunoassays and high-content screening workflows. Optimal antibody concentrations should be determined empirically for each experimental application. These reagents are intended exclusively for research use and are not approved for diagnostic procedures.
