Description

GD3 Ganglioside ammonium is an Apoptosis inducer and biomarker for mouse neural stem cells. GD3 Ganglioside ammonium expresses in neural stem cells and the subventricular zone of the adult mouse brain. GD3 Ganglioside ammonium targets the mitochondrial permeability transition pore complex, induces pore opening, dissipates mitochondrial transmembrane potential, triggers Mitochondrial swelling, releases pro-apoptotic factors, and activates Caspase-9. GD3 Ganglioside ammonium is applicable to research related to glioblastoma[1][2][3].

In Vitro

GD3 ganglioside (20 μM) ammonium induces rapid swelling of isolated rat liver mitochondria by opening the mitochondrial permeability transition pore complex[2].
GD3 ganglioside (200 μM; 6 h) ammonium induces caspase 9 activation in empty vector-transfected T-cell lymphoma CEM cells, and this effect is completely abrogated by forced expression of bcl-2[2].
GD3 ganglioside (200 μM; up to 18 h) ammonium induces time-dependent apoptosis in empty vector-transfected T-cell lymphoma CEM cells, whereas a significant delay in apoptosis is observed in CEM cells overexpressing bcl-2[2].
GD3 ganglioside (10-40 μM) ammonium induces cytochrome c release and caspase-9 activation in isolated mouse liver mitochondria[3].
