Recombinant Rat Leptin (E. coli)

Biological Activity

Leptin is a cytokine belonging to the Interleukin 6 family, and has a four-helix bundle structure. Leptin also has effects on reproduction and immunity. 

ED50 < 10.0 µg/ml, measured by a cell proliferation assay using LoVo cells, corresponding to a specific activity of > 100.0 units/mg.

Apparent Molecular Weight: ~16.3 kDa, on SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. 

Endotoxin Level: < 0.2 EU/μg of protein by gel clotting method 

Lyophilized after extensive dialysis against 50 mM Tris, pH 8.0.

Solubility (25°C)	Reconstitute the lyophilized powder in ddH2O up to 100 μg/ml.
Storage	Stable for up to 6 months at lower than -70°C. Upon reconstitution, the product should be stable for up to 1 week at 4°C or up to 3 months at -20°C.
