Catalog No.
K1093
RNase H, Ribonuclease H

Description

RNase H, also known as ribonuclease H, is an endoribonuclease that specifically hydrolyzes the phosphodiester bonds in RNA strands of DNA-RNA hybrids. RNase H utilizes a catalytic mechanism involving two divalent metal ions, such as Mg2+ and Mn2+ , which directly participate in its catalytic activity. RNase H does not cleave phosphodiester bonds in single-stranded or double-stranded DNA or RNA. This kit can be employed for the removal of mRNA from DNA-mRNA hybrid complexes prior to second-strand cDNA synthesis, sequence-specific RNA cleavage guided by complementary DNA, the detection of DNA-RNA hybrids, removal of poly(A) tails from mRNA hybridized to poly(dT), and the characterization of products from in vitro polyadenylation reactions.
