GSSG is reduced to GSH using Glutathione Reductase (GR) for the determination of total glutathione. GSH reacts with 5,5'-dithiobis-bis-(2-nitrobenzoic acid) to form 2-nitrobenzoic acid, which has an absorption peak at 412 nm.

Application Notes
GSSG is reduced to GSH using Glutathione Reductase (GR). GSH reacts with 5,5'-dithiobis-bis-(2-nitrobenoicacid) to form 2-nitrobenoicacid which has a characteristic absorption peak at 412 nm, the content of total glutathione is determined then. It can test samples of tissues, bacteria, fungus, cells, serums, ect.
