Active Protein Note
Protein activity can be an ambiguous term. Please refer to the data sheet or inquire with Technical Support to determine the definition of activity for this product.
Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized GHRH in sterile 18M Omega -cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions. The GHRH is also soluble in 1% Acetic acid at a concentration of >1mg/ml to give a clear, colorless solution.
Biological Activity
GHRH increases plasma growth hormone concentrations by directly stimulating the anterior pituitary gland to release natural human growth hormone.
Product Categories/Family for GHRH active protein
Hormones; Hormones; GHRP
Other Notes
Small volumes of GHRH active protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for GHRH
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the glucagon family and is a preproprotein that is produced in the hypothalamus. The preproprotein is cleaved to form a 44 aa factor, also called somatocrinin, that acts to stimulate growth hormone release from the pituitary. Variant receptors for somatocrinin have been found in several types of tumors, and antagonists of these receptors can inhibit the growth of the tumors. Defects in this gene are a cause of dwarfism, while hypersecretion of the encoded protein is a cause of gigantism. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

GHRH: GRF is released by the hypothalamus and acts on the adenohypophyse to stimulate the secretion of growth hormone. Belongs to the glucagon family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
