Other Notes

Small volumes of PGE2 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS266212 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PGE2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS266212 kit is based on PGE2 antibody-PGE2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PGE2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PGE2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for PGE2

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the G-protein coupled receptor family. This protein is one of four receptors identified for prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). This receptor can activate T-cell factor signaling. It has been shown to mediate PGE2 induced expression of early growth response 1 (EGR1), regulate the level and stability of cyclooxygenase-2 mRNA, and lead to the phosphorylation of glycogen synthase kinase-3. Knockout studies in mice suggest that this receptor may be involved in the neonatal adaptation of circulatory system, osteoporosis, as well as initiation of skin immune responses. UniProt Comments for PGE2

PTGER4: Receptor for prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). The activity of this receptor is mediated by G(s) proteins that stimulate adenylate cyclase. Has a relaxing effect on smooth muscle. May play an important role in regulating renal hemodynamics, intestinal epithelial transport, adrenal aldosterone secretion, and uterine function. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral; GPCR, family 1; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5p13.1

Cellular Component: plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding; prostaglandin E receptor activity

Biological Process: G-protein signaling, coupled to cAMP nucleotide second messenger; T-helper cell differentiation; response to mechanical stimulus; regulation of stress fiber formation; negative regulation of inflammatory response; negative regulation of cytokine secretion; JNK cascade; response to lipopolysaccharide; immune response; negative regulation of integrin activation; regulation of ossification; positive regulation of inflammatory response; positive regulation of cytokine secretion
