-20°CThromboxane A2 (TXA2) is a potent vasoconstrictor and activator of platelet aggregation. The short half-life of TXA2 ensures local action whether generated by vascular endothelial cells or by platelets and confers physiologically beneficial or deleterious effects under inflammatory situations. TXA2 elicits its effects via a 7-transmembrane domain G protein-coupled receptor, the TP receptor.1 The TP receptor is highly expressed in platelets and is relatively less abundant in tissues such as lung, kidney, brain, spleen, thymus, monocytes, uterus, and placenta. The apparent molecular weight for TP receptors has been reported from 37-70 kD, depending on different degrees of glycosylation. However this antibody consistently detects the TP receptor at 55 and 64 kD in platelet, kidney, and Cos-7 cell samples.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:
Western Blot: 1:200
Immunocytochemistry: 1:200
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:200. Heat induced antigen retrieval with citrate buffer, pH 6.0 is needed.
Optimal dilution to be determined by researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
