Description	Triton X-100 is a non-denaturing detergent that solubilizes lipid membranes. Triton X-100 is commonly used in laboratories and is applied to vaccines at different stages of the manufacturing process. Triton X-100 is listed as an excipient in certain vaccines including split virus influenza vaccines. Triton X-100 is a nonionic surfactant ^[1] ^[2].
In vitro	Triton X-100 (ranging from 0.5% to 0.05%; 1 h; Vero E6 cells) obtained with WNV showed that infectivity was reduced by 6 Logs. This effect was not time-dependent using 0.1% Triton X-100. We applied the method to EBOV and one-hour exposure to 0.1% Triton X-100 strongly affected EBOV infectivity (4 Logs of infectivity reduction).^[3]

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO stock solution to 400 µL PEG300 and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 µL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 µL Saline,PBS or ddH₂O and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
