Alexa Fluor® conjugated anti-horse primary antibodies are immunochemical reagents designed for the fluorescent detection of target antigens in equine-derived samples. These antibodies are generated by immunizing host species such as goat, rabbit, or mouse with purified horse immunoglobulins or specific equine proteins. Following immunoaffinity purification, they are conjugated to Alexa Fluor® dyes, a family of highly photostable fluorophores available across multiple emission wavelengths ranging from blue to far-red. Compared with conventional fluorophores, Alexa Fluor® conjugates provide exceptional brightness, enhanced photostability, and excellent resistance to pH variations. Depending on the product, antibodies may recognize heavy and light chains (H+L), specific immunoglobulin isotypes, or non-immunoglobulin proteins. Many conjugates are pre-adsorbed against serum proteins from other species to reduce non-specific cross-reactivity.
Applications
Alexa Fluor® conjugated anti-horse primary antibodies are widely used in fluorescence-based immunoassays. In immunofluorescence microscopy and immunohistochemistry, they enable sensitive visualization and localization of target antigens in cultured cells and tissue sections while minimizing photobleaching. In flow cytometry and fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), they support accurate quantitative analysis of cell surface and intracellular markers in multicolor experimental panels. Additional applications include high-content imaging, multiplex bead-based immunoassays, and fluorescent Western blotting. Optimal antibody dilution should be determined empirically for each experimental protocol.
