FGF22, Recombinant, Human (Fibroblast Growth Factor-22, FGF-22)

FGF22 is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities and are involved in a variety of biological processes including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. The mouse homolog of this gene was found to be preferentially expressed in the inner root sheath of the hair follicle, which suggested a role in hair development.

Recombinant protein corresponding to human FGF-22, a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 148aa, expressed in E. coli.

Biological Activity:
Measured in a cell proliferation assay using IEC6 cell line (20ng/ml can stimulate the cell proliferation of IEC6 cell line).

Amino Acid Sequence:
The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Thr-Pro- Ser-Ala-Ser.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
