beta-Amylase Activity Colorimetric Assay Kit provides a convenient tool for detection of beta-Amylase Activity. The principle is that amylase catalyzes the hydrolysis of starch to produce reducing sugar, which reduces 3, 5-dinitrosalicylic acid to produce brown-red material, with an absorption peak at 540nm. Amylase activity was calculated by measuring the absorbance increase rate at 540nm.
