Biohazard Information
This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling.
Note
Cells are produced from freshly washed Rabbit RBC by brief exposure to glutataldehye-buffer solution and exhaustive washing in saline solution. The RBCs will settle after prolonged standing, swirl gently to bring back into solution.

Application Notes for Red Blood Cells animal biological fluid
Recommended working dilution for this product is 1:3000 to 1:15000. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Treatment largely preserves the native antigenicity of the erythocytes while rendering the cells generally resistant to lysis by osmonic shock, freeze-thawing or immune hemolysis. These cells are used directly in hemagglutination procedures, or may be coupled with various proteins for hemagglutination testing. No lysis in 100% distilled water.
TEST: Cell sample is put into a tube of distilled water. After 24 hours, cells are at the bottom in a tight button and distilled water supernate is clear and colorless.

Other Notes
Small volumes of Red Blood Cells animal biological fluid vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
