An ultrafiltrate from plasma, synovial fluid contains plasma proteins as well as proteins produced by joint tissue cells. Components of synovial fluid include hyaluronan and lubricin/PRG4. The main functions of synovial fluid include reducing friction, shock absorption, transporting nutrients and waste, and molecular sieving. Please note, the viscosity of synovial fluid can be decreased in rheumatoid arthritis patients.

Small volumes of Single Donor Synovial Fluid biological fluid vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
