Extensive cross-adsorption against immunoglobulins from species including bovine, sheep, goat, and rabbit minimizes cross-reactivity and ensures high specificity in complex biological samples.
Applications
Biotinylated anti-horse antibodies are widely used in immunoassays requiring enhanced analytical sensitivity through streptavidin-based detection systems. In ELISA, the biotin–streptavidin–peroxidase complex significantly increases signal intensity, enabling the detection of low-abundance equine antibodies or antigens in serum and other biological fluids. In immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunocytochemistry (ICC), biotinylated antibodies combined with streptavidin-horseradish peroxidase (HRP) or streptavidin-alkaline phosphatase (AP) generate strong, specific staining of antigens in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues and cultured cells. In Western blotting, these reagents provide highly sensitive chemiluminescent detection when used with streptavidin-HRP and luminol-based substrates.
