-20°CCD44 Iis a a 100kD glycoprotein widely expressed on human leucocytes, white matter of the brain and by some epithelial cells of the intestine and of the breast. CD44 is a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) and is involved in cell-cell interactions, cell adhesion and migration. CD44 also participates in a wide variety of cellular functions including lymphocyte activation, recirculation and homing. CD44 expression may be up-regulated upon some carcinomas, and it has been speculated that this may be related to metastatic potential.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): Requires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections e.g. trypsin or pronase. Use sodium citrate buffer, pH 6, for heat mediated antigen retrieval.
Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher
Recommended Secondary Antibodies:
I1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo
I1904-06H: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo
I1904-14C: IgG, Fc (HRP) Pab Gt xMo
I1904-19C: IgG, F(ab’)2 (HRP) Pab Gt xMo
Storage and Stability:
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
