Background

This gene encodes a cell surface tyrosine kinase receptor for members of the platelet-derived growth factor family. These growth factors are mitogens for cells of mesenchymal origin. The identity of the growth factor bound to a receptor monomer determines whether the functional receptor is a homodimer or a heterodimer, composed of both platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha and beta polypeptides. Studies in knockout mice, where homozygosity is lethal, indicate that the alpha form of the platelet-derived growth factor receptor is particularly important for kidney development since mice heterozygous for the receptor exhibit defective kidney phenotypes. Various whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with PDGF Receptor alpha antibody (GTX133619) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody, and the signal was developed with Trident ECL plus-Enhanced.

Whole cell extract (40 μg) was separated by 7.5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with PDGF Receptor alpha antibody (GTX133619) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody.

PDGF Receptor alpha antibody detects PDGF Receptor alpha protein at cytoplasm by immunofluorescent analysis.
Sample: NIH3T3 cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde at RT for 15 min.
Green: PDGF Receptor alpha stained by PDGF Receptor alpha antibody (GTX133619) diluted at 1:500.
Blue: Hoechst 33342 staining.
