-20°CKeratan sulfate (KS), also called keratosulfate, is any of several sulfated glycosaminoglycans (structural carbohydrates) that have been found especially in the cornea, cartilage, and bone. It is also synthesized in the central nervous system where it participates both in development[1] and in the glial scar formation following an injury. Keratan sulfates are large, highly hydrated molecules which in joints can act as a cushion to absorb mechanical shock.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA and RIA. May be used in a competitive inhibition assay to measure keratan sulfate levels. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:
Western Blot: 1:1000-1:4000
ELISA: 1:5000-1:20,000
RIA: 1:30,000-1:500,000
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
