Description	CHAPS is a zwitterionic nondenaturing detergent for solubilizing membrane proteins.
In vitro	CHAPS detergent is non-denaturing to membrane proteins, can solubilize proteins, disaggregate protein-protein interactions, and is electrically neutral. CHAPS is also useful in ion-exchange chromatography and isoelectric focusing as it is zwitterionic and does not exhibit a net charge between pH 2 to 12. The critical micelle concentration of CHAPS is 6-10mM.

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO stock solution to 400 µL PEG300 and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 µL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 µL Saline,PBS or ddH₂O and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
