Member of the tuberactinomycin family of antibiotics. Inhibits group I intron splicing and prokaryotic protein synthesis. Freezes bacterial ribosomes in either the pre- or post-translational state.
Facilitates trans-cleavage of the Neurospora VS ribozyme.
