We are pleased to announce that CliniSciences is proud to sponsor The Biodiscovery Institute celebrates its 20th anniversary. This event will take place on May 20th, 2024, at University of Nottingham, NG7 2RD- United Kingdom.
The BDI (Biodiscovery Institute) is a £100 million world-leading hub of interdisciplinary research, accommodating 85 research groups and bringing together 850 researchers from the schools of Chemistry, Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine and Science and the Faculty of Engineering.
The institute (formerly the Centre for Biomolecular Sciences) has leveraged £300 million in funding since 2014 and later this year will be celebrating its 20th anniversary, with an international showcase in 2024 to mark this milestone.
Recent successes include establishing a £4m Nottingham Ovarian Cancer Research Centre and the £23.4 million renewal of the National Biofilms Innovation Centre, which combines expertise from academia (Nottingham, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Southampton) with 200 industrial partners.
Bringing together researchers from a diverse range of disciplines has made developing a supportive environment and positive research culture a key aim of the BDI.
Developments in this area have included Project Period, the provision of free sanitary products throughout the BDI which has now been taken up university-wide, and the empowerment of the early career researchers, which has been recognised by the University of Nottingham Tri Campus Awards 2023’s Team Award for Commitment to Enhancing the Research Culture and Environment.
