Description
Equine Chorionic Gonadotropin (eCG) is a complex glycoprotein obtained from the serum of pregnant mares. This 43-63kda protein is capable of supplementing and being substituted for the follicle stimulating gonadotrophin and interstitial cell-stimulating hormone of the anterior pituitary gland both the male and female. Thus eCG-Intervet stimulates development of the ovarian follicle in the female.
Serum of pregnant mares.
Physical Appearance
Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Solubility
It is recommened to reconstitute the lyophilized eCG in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O at a concentration of 1000 IU/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Stability
Lyophilized eCG although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored between 2-8°C.
