-20°CInterleukin-5 (IL-5) is a 40kD secreted, heparin-binding, disulfide-linked homodimeric glycoprotein that belongs to the a-helical group of cytokines. It promotes the proliferation, differentiation and activation of eosinophils. The 115aa mature feline IL-5 shares 70-59aa sequence identity with human and mouse IL-5, respectively. The IL-5 receptor is a complex of an IL-5-specific ligand-binding a subunit with a signal transducing common b subunit (bc) that is shared with receptor complexes for IL-3 and GM-CSF.
Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
ELISA (capture): 2-8ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
